Trauma systems are designed to get the right patient at the right hospital in the right time receiving the right care. High quality pre-hospital care is thus an essential component of a mature trauma system. In recent years, Tasmania has witnessed great advances in our collective capability to provide care in the pre-hospital phase, especially through the evolution of the Aero-Medical and Medical Retrieval Division (AMMRD) of Ambulance Tasmania, which allows advanced Pre-Hospital and Retrieval Medicine (PHARM) to be delivered from the point of injury to the point of definitive care.
Join us at Trauma Tasmania 2020 as we focus our attention on the gains made and yet to be made in managing the vital first hours after injury, and as we consider how best to coordinate and evaluate service delivery so as to approach the ultimate goal of zero preventable pre-hospital deaths.
